billydpowell Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 it told me I had a bad thermostat, and I did (see photos) the rubber was pushed out and not letting the car warm up.... I replaced it and still have P0125 CEL. I am going to try ECT sensor next. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD TO DEAL WITH THIS?????
steve2006 Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Never knew there was a code for the engine coolant not warming up in a specified amount of time. Goes without saying you've cleared the old code Billy.
James Horning Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 You have to read the criteria for code P0125. Yes is has to do with temperature and warm up time. Coolant and air fuel ratio sensor warm up time. As stated time for ECM to enter CLOSED loop status. Are you going into closed loop on both banks ? This is where a code is only half the story , you need to look at your data list .
curiousB Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Hi Billy, No P0115 to go with it? That is a faulty coolant sensor code. Low coolant and/or air bubble at the ETC sensor? Have any O2 sensors been changed lately? I saw one post where a generic (bank1, sensor 1) O2 sensor was miswired, the signal and ground reversed, causing a P0125 code. You'd think that would pop many O2 related codes as well though.

I have a new ETC sensor for it... will up-date...
billydpowell Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 SUCCESS! no more codes. I got the ETC sensor at O'Reilly for 15$ +tax, Autozone was 45$. Jon put it in for me, and it is finished, Oh, and it turned over 230000k on my way home...
curiousB Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 good stuff. Strange the sensor didn't trip a code but maybe it was just drifting out of spec rather than failed. 230k, just broken in! Had fun with mine when I rolled over 123456 a few months ago. Wife thought I was nutz....

billydpowell Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 well that P0125 CEL came back on and I had Davenport Lexus check it for me and they said the o2 heater wiring was faulty, and too slow to go into closed loop. I replaced the o2 and the light is off again... been a week now... the original problem for the 02 was the leaking VC gaskets oil soaked the plug for the 02..... you might want to watch this area. I dont know why the autozone just showed po125, DL was able to go a step further and solve the real problem.
