flipmode64 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Have had the rear end clank for a long time now, but now it is very loud and sounds brutal. If I am at a stand still and I jump on the gas the back end goes down and makes a metal clank. I have replaced the rear sway bar bushings way back when that was supposed to be the cause. What should I be looking at now? Thanks
Steve Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 sounds like the shocks are gone or the anto roll bar bushes If it is the shocks then get the anti roll bar bushes done at the same time.. very cheap to buy the rubbers and easy to fit. Makes a difference! Other than that check the strut bearing at the top of the strut.
gbhrps Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 You might check the sway barend links to see if their bushings are up to par. I had a vehicle that had the same rear end clunk on drive away that was traced back to the link rubbers on one side. Good Luck!
flipmode64 Posted December 28, 2012 Author Posted December 28, 2012 anit roll bushings, struts and mounts, and end links on the back end were replaced a year ago, but the noise was there before I had those changed. Now it has gotten even louder. What else could I check here?
