darjarratt Posted March 27, 2012 Share Posted March 27, 2012 Hi I'm Darlene (aka Dar) very new to this, but am desprate and need help from everybody who knows anythig about the problem I'm having I own a 92 sc 300 that has a problem with the steering , I took it back to firestone who did alignment last month, to see if they mess it up , now I'm told that I need to replace the rack and pinon steering for the low price of $1100, how difficult is this kind of repair and will the parts really cost the $800 that firestone quoted me? they also told me that my power steering leak was due to the steering problem, what will happen if I keep driving it? how will I know when its not safe to drive anymore? I only have 170,000 miles on this car and it runs great but can't afford the $1100 they want to fix it. I need help, some options , if I fix it will that be the end of it no more problems with the steering, or could I just be in for alot of exspensive repairs.
