2ton
The passenger door lock stopped responding to lock/unlock signals remotely, LS 430 '04. All 3 other doors respond correctly. Touching the passenger door handle with smart key in hand makes a faint noise in door but no beep like the other doors using smart key, no movement on lock lever. The only way to lock/unlock passenger door is manually pushing the lock lever inside the door. Also, the beep-beep stopped working when locking the car with the smart key, and no beep-beep when pushing the outside passenger door button. Anyone have the same issue with one door not responding? Any help appreciated!
steve2006
I'm not sure if the door lock mechanism in the 430 is similar to the earlier 400 but the motor in the lock does fail and for some reason it seems to be the passenger door that fails (mine included). You really need to remove the door trim and have a look at the linkages to see if they are free to move and correctly attached. Another common problem is the door light switches but this normally gives other symptoms like the interior light stopping on and the alarm going off. If you are OK with DIY and get hold of a secondhand lock you can replace the motor.

2ton
Thanks. It's helpful to know the mechanism is motor driven (not vacuum).
