Lexusing
I just noticed yesterday that my 96LS transmission have a "thumb" noise when I slow down for a stop. It sound like it downshift to 1st very rough...Should I worry? The transmission was flush about a year ago at the dealer. I have a little over 76K miles on it. VBdenny
Sounds weird. Have you just been driving mostly around town in cold weather?

srgilbert
I have a well maintained 95 and mine is periodically doing the same thing. I suggest that you check the fluid level, make certain that there are no codes (possible throttle position sensor problem) or it could be the ECM which there is a bulletin on. I've replaced pluigs and the TPS will be next. After these its the ECM as the trans has been tested and they are pretty much bulletproof.
