RX 350
I only drive on paved roads but yet I have numerous paint chips on the hood front of my 2010 Lexus with approximately 30,000 KM. I had a special protective applied when I bought the vehicle at a cost of some $700. My dealer says this is normal but I disagree. I also own a 12 year old Honda with over 100,000 KM which has less paint damage than my Lexus. I believe the paint used by Toyota/Lexus is of inferior quality. Has anyone else had the same problem? cduluk
You're absolutely right in your observations, the new Toyota/Lexus paint is VERY soft. What "paint protection" did you have them apply? Are you talking about a clear-bra or the wax they charge an arm and a leg for that washes away in a month? Can you take and post pictures of the chipped area? If it's bad enough you can opt to have a body shop repaint it. Body shop paint is much harder than the factory Lexus paint.
LEXIRX330
Yea the paint is SOFT! And like CD said the paint protection isn't anything but a sealer...if it was the clear bra it may have helped.
