Will Earthquake In Japan Affect Parts Availability

Since both of my Lexus vehicles are made in Japan, I'm wondering if vehicle replacement parts will be hard to get. Does anyone know if the parts are made in Japan? I can only imagine it will be a very, very long time before the country is back to normal.

I feel so sorry for all of the people affected.

Do not underestimate the resilience of the Japanese. They will be affected for sure, but will begin rebuilding almost immediately. They are not Haitians, but rather a very goal-centered and industrious society.

Many parts are in the North American system, and replacements will be only weeks away I am sure.

We're really terrible people for thinking this way...but one of my first thoughts was "I wonder if any of the Lexus plants were affected..."
