saturation
I have learned that my car was at some point under a recall for oil gel problems which turn on the check engine light. This light has been on for quite some time--EVEN though I replace oil every 3-5K miles. The recall has expired. Does anyone have any experience with taking their car in after this recall and having any luck with Lexus taking care of it? Also, how much does something like this cost to fix? lenore
You have not given us the codes for your light. It could be something completely unrelated. The symptons of oil gel was generally heavy useage of oil between changes.....Go to your local auto parts store and get the codes read.. yeskay
may be unrelated. you should contact Lexus and confirm your statement with the vin id.
SW03ES
It most certainly is unrelated. Many reasons a CEL may come on...most of them minor. Engine oil gelling caused total engine failure...if that were occuring...you'd know. It was never a recall, just a special extended warranty.
