I tried to pull down the IS300 tech manual on an earlier string, but it's dead right now. I don't feel like shelling $300 for a lexus manual. Can anyone run me down the basics to removal?

Hood line bolts obvious. But not sure, think i have to remove the bumper and side marker light to get to mounting bolts.

Any help here would be appreciated. Headlights and all side lenses in perfect shape. Metal just dented in a bit.

Lending my wife my IS while her GS is dead. after 1K miles, it gets hit in a parking lot while she's shopping. Got 31K, was hoping to keep her pristine.

Thanks!!

Per the attached diagram of a 2005 IS300 front fender, it looks like there are bolts below the turn signal area.

Went to the junkyard today for the $195 replacement fender. Unfortunately they couldn't find it in the pile. Found a fender on a car but it didn't line up quite right. Pulled the wheel well cover and found it was an aftermarket. Instinct correct, don't buy aftermarket: Keep w/ OEM.

Appears $370ish at dealer. Parkplace Lexus online gives 15% disc. So I can get new OEM for $311. Don't think I'll waste anymore time w/ junkies for $100 bucks.. Anyone know where I can get OEM better price?

Oh, after removing the wheel well cover, it exposed the mounting bolts where the bumper meets the headlight assy. So just flex the bumper back a few inches and you can get to the front bolts. The rest appear to be intuitive. So easier than I thougth.

Got quote of $800 to replace/repaint from non OEM autobody shop. Reference point for the rest of you.

Thnx

Oh, Thnx for the help in the diagram and info. I popped out the dent and painted to preserve the metal and not make it look so ugly the other day so I didn't get to use the info.

But THnx again

Picked up the fender from Parkplace yesterday. So it listed around $355-265?? But the online price was $311.67 plus tax. Not that $15 really makes a big deal, but I've actually never driven to Sewell and I know how to get to Parkplace faster.

But dug up the older listings under "maintenance" and someone put together a 5 site list of online supplies for those who want to shop around.

Appears most yards in DFW want around $200 for used fenders. An aftermarket is like $260ish. Several of these fenders I saw in the yards were stacked on top of each other and were scratched and had rust beginning to form. So I'd rather ensure my body lines fit perfect and not worry about accelerated rust issues and just bought new.

Since its black and stored in garage, I'm just going to have a shop paint it to color code and pop it on once it hardens up really well.

Thnx again!
