Trunk Won't Stay Up

Need help with determining the problem witht hte trunk. It appears like these little shock like tubes are not working.

The rear hatch struts usually have a longer life than 6 years - mine (on the '99 RX) lasted nine years. You can get them on-line:

The lift cylinders wen bad on my 4SC430 after 5 years and low usage. The dealer wanted ~$400 to replace them. I bought OEM replacements from Sewell Lexus in Dallas online at http://www.sewellpartsonline.com/parts_det...44317&all=Y They cost $200 and took 2 minutes to replace. Just pop the ring clip holding the old one on and push the new one onto the stud.

Got mine on ebay too...Cost me $55. Put them on in less than 2 Minutes Flat! Trunk Opens perfectly now. I used to have my California Dust Wand holding it up no more !!!!!!!
