Hey everyone I just signed up for the forum. I drove my wife's 2001(115,000 miles) RX last night for the first time in a while and came to the conclusion that it's time to start maintaining it like I do my daily driver. I drive an 01 Infiniti QX4 and in the last year or so started performing a lot of my own maintenance/upgrades. The few things I've bee able to tackle are brakes, shocks/struts, air intake mods, lights, you know the easy stuff.

With my car nissan built them virtually identical 97-00 and same goes for 01-04 and the the same year pathfinder is almost identical as well. Same engine, electrical, suspension, brakes etc. Does the RX have a system like this? Are certain years mechanically identical?

What should I be looking out for? Are there bushings, sensors, gaskets, hoses, belts or whatever that give out prematurely? Does anyone have a FSM that I can DL?

Right now the things that are my first priority are steering wheel shaking while braking (guessing it's the ABS sensor ring), replace all 4 rotors and pad sets, passenger side back door lock wont respond to the switch and the passenger side front door lock is sticky when using the switch, cleaning the throttle body.

Thanks for all the help and I look forward to learning and contributing to the community.

Billy

Wow, thanks for the warm welcome guys! 40 views and not a single reply, not even a hello and welcome to our forum. I guess I'll be heading over to clublexus.com for help and advice, they seem to have a much more active community and members that welcome newbies with open arms.

Welcome aboard, Long labor day weekend with honeydoos..... my wife wouldnt let me on the computer. You are in good hands here and at club lexus...do a search under the forum for RX300 and you will find all that you request. Brembo rotors from Tire rack.com work great. Partsgeek.com will provide you with lots of OE parts cheap. Again welcome.
