thekidhartford
Have a crazy idea to remove just the faceplate off a Naka and put it on my stock LS radio.......Anyone know if the faceplate can be removed? Is it a snap off, snap on type deal? Thanks tkh
1990LS400
Kevin? Is that you from CL? The front of the Nak headunit isn't a snap-on faceplate -- I've had mine out several times. Besides, the button configuration of the 98-00 Nak and standard radio headunits is a little different. The Nak headunit doesn't have an ASL button or the ASL feature. It almost looks like the little buttons at the bottom are in a slightly different location too. Compare the photo of my Nak: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...si&img=1349 with your Pioneer: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...c=56051&hl= Is your radio "faceplate" damaged? With Nakamichi's getting difficult to get repair - parts not available - I'm wishing I had the standard Pioneer system.

How are you Jim! Trying to get the Naka style without the Naka stereo headaches like you said. I don't want the actual Naka stereo but I do want the faceplate so it looks like I have the Naka option on my car.....Crazy I know but I added wood steering wheel and shifter for cheap using car-part.com and thought if I could just snap off the faceplate on a broken Naka and fit it on mine I'd be good as gold, used Naka units go for $65 on car-part. That ASL button is USELESS!!!!! Looks like to me everything is lined up pretty well. How is it attached Jim? Thanks
