90LS400Lexus
Nice car! I wish I could find 95-96 LS400 in need of some minor cosmetic help, so I can get it cheap. :)
billydpowell
Nice car! I wish I could find 95-96 LS400 in need of some minor cosmetic help, so I can get it cheap. :) This one was cheap, $3000, but I have some issues to deal with. I fixed the tilt/telescope, but I had already fixed one before, just a garden hose washer works. The AC just needed one can of freon, and a couple of taillight bulbs turned the dash light off. Now I need to "get to the washer jug" to see why it is leaking, and turn it's light off. then the "TRAC/OFF" light that flashes on and off.. (The Trac off button does not change anything) AND THEN deal with the CHECK ENGINE light .. THE TROUBLE CODE IS "obd II code P0336" the AutoZone read out said "open or short circuit condition" or "poor electrical connection" or "faulty sensor" Then see if I can adjust the trunk hinge to make it lay flat again. WOW, thats hard on a 75 year old guy with limited $$$. Any info or links will be appreciated.. thanks in advance.. bp

90LS400Lexus
$3000 is cheap. I gave $3200 (plus an additional $300 for shipping) for my '91 LS400 about 16 months ago. Dont have any of those problems, but even when I first got it, things like the engine and transmission mounts were wearing out, now I have valve cover gasket leaks and power steering pump leak. The saga continues.

billydpowell
Nice car! I wish I could find 95-96 LS400 in need of some minor cosmetic help, so I can get it cheap. :) You can have this one, I just bought another 1997 LS Diamond white pearl... so this 95 has to go.. I also got the fender molding from pure drifter and put it on. I am taking the chrome wheels off the 95 and using the 97 stock wheels on it. let me know if you are serious. bp
Slvr99LS
Somewhat off-topic, but one thing I noticed from your photos that stands out to me... and it seems to be fairly consistent on these cars as they age... but the leather interior of these cars seems practically indestructible, especially compared to most other manufacturers. I have seen a few that were torn up, but it's rare. I'll assume Lexus simply chose a higher grade of hide as part of their 'cost-no-object' philosophy regarding the flagship LS. My '92 LS with 215K, which I doubt had ever been garaged, was showing some moderate checking & cracking in the tan interior, but it was definitely still passable. If it were a Cadillac at the same age/mileage I probably would've been sitting on the seat springs and not much else. :D btw, great deal you got on that car... I would've given it serious consideration if I weren't already neck-deep in my own project LS!

I pulled the chrome wheels off the 95 and put them on the 97. cheers, bp my new 97 with chrome wheels. PEACE AT LAST, SOLD THAT 95, GOT MY 3000 BACK.. cheers
