babyduke Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 The tail light warning was on so I replaced the bulb. It was the bulb that lights up when the gear is shifted to PARK position. New bulb works fine but the warning light is still on. I checked all the bulbs including the brake lights and all seem to be working fine.
jbarhorst2 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Sounds like a tail light or a brake light is burned out. Compare both sets to each other and find the one that is burned out. Tom
LexSC400328 Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 make sure you bought the right bulb...if it said LED bulb then the light will not go off! read the box to see if it says LED anywhere on the box as the type of bulb because if its that bulb the car will not recognize it as being a replacement but still a burnt out regular.
JohnH Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Make sure the bulb contacts are clean also. I've changed the bulb, and still have the light stay on until I went back and cleaned the contacts.
cdonnie Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Try to disconnect the battery for ten minutes then re-connect, maybe it needs to re-set.
gabep Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I have a 94 Camry with the same problem. Found 2 broken wires in the flex loom that connects the trunk lid circuitry.
jzz30 Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 that and sometimes the ground wire wich is just pressed on to the bulb casing looses contact. its best to solder it on or just replace the harness if you cant solder
