shortbear Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 I was wondering if you can play DVD movies on the Lexus RX330 DVD Navigation screen?
coleRX Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 You can watch movies on the NAV screen when the parking brake is engaged. Once you disengage the parking brake, the screen goes back to the normal NAV screen. Probably a good safety feature! I've read some threads of people trying to bypass this safety but haven't heard of anyone being successful yet. I have the RSES, don't know if you can play DVD's on the NAV/non-RSES systems.
ukexpat Posted January 27, 2004 Posted January 27, 2004 I have a 2004 NAV/non-RSES -- I'kk check tonight whether it will play DVDs...
300gone330 Posted January 29, 2004 Posted January 29, 2004 We could start a whole new meaning of the "drive-in" with parking and playing movies. Guess one could always carry a flick just in case of traffic jam...? LOL
kevinclee Posted January 29, 2004 Posted January 29, 2004 Where is the DVD Navigation system? Under the passenger chair?
jerryray Posted January 29, 2004 Posted January 29, 2004 I have a 2004 NAV/non-RSES -- I'kk check tonight whether it will play DVDs... You can only watch a DVD IF you have the entertainment package, where you put the DVD in the player mounted on the inside roof of the car.
hsnider Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 I want to find out if my navigation system is cd or dvd based. It is on a 1998 LS400. The dealer wants $500 for upgrade. Does anyone know if the uprgrade acturally is better in tems of more cities covered with detail. I live in MO and the only detailed coverage is in St. Louis and Kansas City. It doesn't even have detail for a city as large as Tulsa.
