G Alex Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I am sure this has been beat to death but thought I would ask. I have an 01 430 and the navi works but seems it wont get me to ANY place totally. It says, some of the roads wont show and you have to use the visual map to find destination. I can input a place that has been there for 20 yrs and same thing. Question, does anyone have a newer disk to pass along so I can see if I can get any use out of this ? I have a magellan and it rocks. I have it in my other car but find myself pulling it out of it and installing in lexus. I would like to be able to take advantage of the navi unit but if it is junk, I will install a dvd/cd player in its place. I am sure I will lose the 6 disk changer but hey, gotta do something besides look at the worthless navi unit right ? Help ? Thoughts ?
BillyShaft Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 your nav system should be a Gen 2/3. You should be able to update all the way up to the latest and greatest 8.1 update disc, and as a bonus, I understand you will still be able to override your nav so it can be used while you drive!
SW03ES Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Your nav data is probably 9 years old...I bet it would suck. I'd update the data, you can buy them at www.sewellpartsonline.com for about $250.
