1995 Poosible Immobilzer Problem?

Hi,

I have a 1995 LS400, and recently the battery went flat ( as i was away for a month). When i came back i found the battery completely flat, could not use the plipper to open the doors, and used the key in the drivers door. When i opened the door the nothing happened. I then jumped the battery with another car at which point the indicators flashed constantly, and the alarm went off. I manually switched the alarm off under the bonnet using the alarm key, but the indicators continued flashing. On inserting the key into the ignition & turning the key i get nothing at all. the lights come on including the red immobilizer light.

I suspect the immobiliser is on but how do i disable it?

Any help would be much appreciated, and many thanks in advance for responses.

I do not know this will get rid of the problem, but I would get a trickle battery charger and hook that up for a day or so.

HI.

Did that, and tried a new battery, but no joy.

IS there any chance i can by pass the immobiliser?

no LS400 pre 97 had an actual engine immobilizer from the factory.

most likely, either the battery and/or the alternator is dead. the ALARM may have killed the motor since it was tripped but based on my experiences with the old '95 i had i doubt it.

check ur fuses.

I have a 1998 GS400 and I have the same problem as the original poster. I can't find a way to deactivate the inmobilizer. The altenator is working. The battery is brand new. And all the fuses and relays are working ok.

I actually managed to start the car a couple of times (reight after I disconnected and reconnected the battery), but overall the car wont start.

Is there a key combination insert/remove combination or a pedal press/depress combination that may disable the inmobilizer?

your car actually has an immobilizer unlike the OP, if it is indeed an immobilizer problem then no, you can't do anything with a combination of anything. you need to have the car serviced.
