Don33
Hi everyone. I have owned my 2002 LS 430 (nav/lev) since new and have found the nav to be very accurate. Yesterday the nav went completely bonkers and showed me to be in the same general vicinity but not anywhere near the freeway that I was on and sometimes showed me driving in the ocean (3 miles away). This was on the return from San Diego after it worked perfectly on the first leg of the trip. Later last night if again worked perfectly. This has only happened once before; about two months ago. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
PilotguyPA28
I wouldn't worry too much about it until it totally 100% of the time goes bad. It does use sattelites to get data from. Sometimes they can mess up. I know. I use a GPS in my airplane.

BTW I envy you...when I learned to fly all I had was an HSI, VOR, and an ADF and drew the wind triangles by hand. :)
