HankJ Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Hello, I just found out that the right front beering on my 2004 LS430, with 162,000 miles, is bad. Should it have gone out so soon? How hard is it to replace, what should it cost at the dealer or an indie? Thanks, Hank
GKLCPA Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 I'd like the answer to that as well. Lexus recently told me that my lower ball joints are bad and need to be replaced. They quoted me $550 including the alignment. Is that reasonable? It seems so to me.
TallerMike Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Any update on this? I think I might need to replace the front bearings on my 2001 LS430 with 105,000 miles.
ABH3 Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Any update on this? I think I might need to replace the front bearings on my 2001 LS430 with 105,000 miles. I had my front driver side wheel hub replaced because the beering where going out, they where making this terrible noise like a constant ratteling racket no matter what i did it sounded terrible. Anyways i took it to a buddies shop and he did it for i think 450-500 and that included the part. Yes you need to get an alignment after words. This was at about 105,000 miles, i didnt think i would be having any problems but man once that started the control arm and the strut needed to be changed as well!
VBdenny Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 If you can get them to replace both lower ball joints and an alignment for $550, jump on it. You didn't mention the miles but I would expect them to last at least 150k
