I have always owned Nissan 280 thru 300 Zcars. All white. I happenned to go by a Lexus dealer and they had a green 1998 SC300. After I drove it I decided I had to have one so I found one on e-bay in Texas. 1998 SC300 with 59K on it. I was so paranoid about buying on e-bay I flew to Dallas and checked out the car. I had it shipped because one ticket and increased insurance was more than the shipping cost. The only problem with the car was I never got used to the color. It was a deep purple, amythist I think was the factory term. I just had to have a white one. I sold the car after driving it 600 miles and found a white one on e-bay in Florida. 1997 SC400 pearl white 70K. This was a one owner dealer serviced, always garaged and only driven by a little old man. I did not go to FL to inspect but I was pleasantly surprised when the car arrived. It was emaculate inside and out. It does need tires and I am getting confused by all the choices. I like Les Swabb because of there super service. The are suggesting the Toyo. with sipping. It rains a lot here. Price wise they are about $800.00 for 4 including mounting and balance. I would appreciate any comments.

That seems a bit steep for stock spec. tires. Are these going on the stock 16" wheels? I have paid 300$ for 17*8 kuhmo ecsta supra (different car) - I have also paid the same price for 18* staggered set-up Hankook Ventus (Lexus) tires. I paid 200$ for 15" dunlop sd snow tires (different car). I'd recommend checking a few other places. If you are running the stock size 16" wheels, I wouldn't expect to pay much over 400$ for the tires, mounting and balancing. Unless things are a lot more expensive in your area.

There should be a good thread explaining tires in our wheel and tires forum by Sadistic. He might chime in here as well.

I have had good experiences buying tires online at tirerack.com.

:D Hey, great choice of car.....I did not like the ride I got on my factory tires and rims. I have 20" but I found I liked the feel of 18's with NITTO's as well. I use the 18's on the track..... Be sure your tires are rated 120~140 mph + type A.

Rims for your car can also be set up with the offset wider for the rear. The tire ( if a sport tire ) can also be wider in the rear than the front. Gives the car a sporty look. Helps with grip as well.

Les Swabb has great deals, and local wise may be able to service you well, and can help with what works best. Do your research! Some companies like L-Sportline have the verious offset and packages that work well. Road side service and warranty's are good to have.....On line may not provide a service of that type. If you stick with stock a local company will help. I have not paid over 200.00 greens for factory, most should be around 140? if that? I live in Utah.....crap here is cheaper than alot of states. Good Luck! B)
