My Baby Has Hiccups! Plz Help!

Hello..

I bought this 1991 LS 400, the car comes from Japan.

A little issue started about 2 days ago. While driving my car on the highway at a steady speed of 60mph, idle started to knock slightly.

When I got home, my girlfriend got out of the car while engine was still running, she closed the door...The idle dropped a good 400 rpm for 1 second or 2, then came back to it's original idle speed!

I noticed that when I punch my handglove compartement, I get a 500 rpm loss!

Also, if I hit a big bump while slowin' down or breaking, the engine shuts down and I have to restart it.

Somebody has an idea of what could be the problem?

Loose connection? or something to do with a sensor?

**Battery connection is good and tight

Your help is greatly appreciated! B)

The proximity tells me it could be the ECU. The passenger door slammed, glove compartment hit, all nearest to where the ECU is located. Its located up behind the cover in the passenger seat-well, some connections could be loose/shorting in there.

Your anwser seems logic, did the ECU of the 1UZFE had a recall?

Don't forget to check my old mainstay, the loose ignition wiring, and especially the coil wire connections to the 2 coils. They are really sensitive to vibration, especially the left side (looking at the engine from the drivers seat) coil. If it loosens, it causes all kinds of bad stuff, especially missing and near stalling. Best of luck.
