From the Lexus dealer in Concord, CA - the three volume set is $98 for each volume.

Picked all three volumes up today - 8/25/06. $315.00 OTD. They are each about 3" thick. Not particularly helpful so far. I wanted use them for insturctions on changing/checking the parking lamps. Didn't cover it well at all. Still had to pretty much figure it out myself.

Unless you have really small hands it's same procedure as changing a headlight. The payoff isn't that great. That little lamp doesn't add much illumination to anything. I will do the other side and hopefully the rear light warning dash light will go out.

just picked up vol 1 and 2 for my 93 SC400 for $80 brand new. They arent too high demand on ebay so if you do spot it, you should bid on it knowing it shouldn't go too high

That's a better price than what I paid for mine.

Anyone know a quicker way of downloading the PDFs from the techinfo toyota site? The way I'm doing it is opening each PDF and saving each one, one at a time... taking forever!

With reference to an earlier posting under topic "Repair Manual," dated Sept 14, here's the info on a good source for factory shop repair manuals:

books4cars.com (That's their business logo as well as web site)

4850 37th Ave. So.

Seattle, WA. 98118

Phone: (toll free) 1-888-380-9277, (Seattle area) (206)721-3077

Prices are:

Volume 1 (Mechanical): $89.95

Volume 2 (Chassis): $89.95

Electrical Repair Supplement: $39.95

Supplement for Manual Transmission: $37.95

Shipping is extra. Washington State residents get gigged for sales tax.

They do not have a publication for Lexus that lists parts numbers at this time.

These guys are top drawer. They ship fast and will let you know at the time you order if they have all books. They deal strickly in automotive publications and have an inventory of about four thousand books. I spoke with one of them before I left for work today (Dec. 3) and he said that they had a pretty good supply of Lexus material. Give them a call and good luck.

Someone feel free to call me crazy but this books4cars.com site shows manuals for 1990 LS400's and 1990 SC400's which weren't even produced for 2 more years. 1992 is the first year of either of these models, right?

I hope I'm not in the wrong posting this here, but www.alldatadiy.com offers great alternatives to purchasing shop manuals. For 14.95 a month per vehicle, you pretty much get that for a year online. They offer book times, part numbers, and diagrams. I've been using them for about 5 years, and watched their library grow considerably. Sometimes they don't have all the info you would want, on the more obscure vehicles, or parts, but if you're going to be performing work that they might not have, chances are you don't need a manual.

I'll have to check this out.

This thread hasnt been touched in a long time. I have a complete PDF file on CD if anyone needs a copy of it. I am asking a measly 10 bucks to cover the disc, case, and shipping cost. It covers so many things and allows searches and particular codes to troubleshooting. Over 4K pages at the touch of your hands.. PM me for details or post up...

I just got into fixing my Lexus 92 sc400. The track light is on as well as the brake light, and engine light. I just bridged the reader with a wire to see the codes flash. The airbag light just blinks, the trac light blinks with a 43 code, the abs is either 5 or 55. The cruise and chk engine and of light just blink as well. I dunno what's up.
