Wimdermere Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 :I am owner of new RX350 with black onyx paint.(Japan car). Noticed paint scratches in paint when in sunlight. I have driven it only 140 miles. I pointed this out to dealer and they said it was normal. I can understand swirl marks possibly but not surface scratches. Any suggestions. I have not washed car and it is garaged. Any input would be appreciated.
jcrome04 Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Find a good compound, and polish, and top it off with a good wax or sealant. Try to avoid a "filler" product that just hides the damage.
SW03ES Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 The dealer did it when they detailed the car before you took delivery. Look around here for the proper products and techniques to fix the issue, and never let the dealer touch the car's paint again.
mburnickas Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Lexus dealers suck in this area. They washed my car one time and I think they did it with sand paper! Nevermind the fake cherry smell in a leather interior! clowns....
SW03ES Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Yep, one dealer wash is enough to make one learn their lesson haha.
