  1. Just had my 08 RX350 detailed and given the 30k service in Atlanta at Nalley - Roswell. The Michelins have about 3k miles left. I'm planning a road trip and will replace with the same MX4's because of the ride. The dealer will price match any discounter here in Atlanta. My dealer back in Pa. never did that. Two year road hazard will also be included. The new warranty sounds good. Will check it out. I've driven on Contis and Dunlops in the past and the ride was not as smooth. It's a tradeoff for comfort for me. I don't put on the miles so @6,000 mpy it will work for me w/Michelin.
  2. FYI - Had a similar problem in another import. After numerous attempts by their dealership to eliminate odor, the manufacturer repurchased the vehicle after it was inspected by corporate engineers etc. They never divulged the source of the odor. It was not a Lexus and I signed off so I cannot mention the name, but it was a luxury line. Although the odor was similar to a wet dog etc. they tried everything to no avail.
  3. I had an odor problem with a Mercedes. Got it resolved via lemon-law. Check your state for lemon law resolution if the problem cannot be fixed.
  4. My 2008 Rx 350 came with the factory basic stereo system(I was told it is a Pioneer). It sounds good but I would like to enhance the sound. I'm not looking for more base. This system provides plenty of that. I guess I'm looking for a more refined sound(similar to the Levinson stereo). Without changing the basic system what component would you recommend to add on. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  5. The Chester Springs dealership pricing on the 2008 RX 350 @ end of season was high. I purchased from a dealership in Doylestown and their pricing was @ invoice. Definitely worth a trip there. They even located a Japan model 350 and had it trucked in for the cost of transport. I would definitely take a trip there to price out a vehicle. Good luck.
  6. This post I'm responding to was obviously from a long time ago, but I'm wondering if anyone has had experiences with any Philly dealerships since then. It seems like there are only three dealerships with 25 miles of me in the NW Philly suburbs (Chester Springs, Wilkie, Wilmington). And two of them are owned by the same partnership. The one closest to me is a fairly new dealership (2 years) and the "experience" has been good. It's a beautiful dealership and the responsiveness and attention have been good. But with so few dealers I'm wondering how much negotiation leverage I'll have. This late in the model year, and with me still actively considering BMW I think I'll get a reasonable deal, but we'll see. Anyone have any good or bad experiences with Wilkie or Chester Springs? Either sales, service, or other? Thanks!
  7. Is there any particular reason why the clear coat on these cars is so soft? I have never seen a paint job with this type of clear coat. I was involved in industrial coatings (powder and liquid) for a short while and find it difficult to understand why Lexus would paint a luxury vehicle that "scratches" when you wash it/dry it? I am obviously missing something.
  8. I brought in my brand new(265 miles) 2008 RX350 for ipod connection installation. Car was returned with a chip in the console shifter plate: a puncture in the passenger leather seat surface: and a scratch in the bumper and the front right quarter panel. I returned the vehicle immediately and after a week in the shop the repairs were completed. For the aggravation the dealership comped the ipod kit charges. I thought I was done but weeks later when detailing the car I noticed another scratch in the lower door molding trim. The car has limited use as I work from home and now has only 650 miles after 3 months. My question is about bringing the car back for 1000 mile service and other services. How closely does one have to inspect a vehicle when picking it up after getting it serviced.
  9. I noticed the plastic trim panels/ posts on door frame have what appears to be surface marks sort of like scratches (for lack of a better word.) Is this normal and if not is there any way to condition the plastic trim. Car has fewer than 500 miles and does not go to car wash. Thanks for any info.
  10. :I am owner of new RX350 with black onyx paint.(Japan car). Noticed paint scratches in paint when in sunlight. I have driven it only 140 miles. I pointed this out to dealer and they said it was normal. I can understand swirl marks possibly but not surface scratches. Any suggestions. I have not washed car and it is garaged. Any input would be appreciated.
