billhinton
Wife took car to shop in Atlanta to diagnose "check engine light". Shop said cat converter which new from dealer would over $900 for part only. They can do for under $600 installed. Mienke says 239 each installed. Questions: 1) How can I tell if both need replacing? 2) should I do the left then the right if need be? 3) I took off gas cap and re tightened. Would that correct it if that was the problem or 4)should I put a new one on or 5) should I disconnect battery to reset to see if it comes back on? Thanks for any and all help Bill
tansupplyman
You have emission stations in Atl; might want to take it to one of those and see if it passes(out of curiosity); you have to pass emissions there anyway and could you if a cat was bad?? billhinton
I understand they won't test cars if "check engine light" is on. Thanks
chubyball
Hello Bill, Did you replace the cat at Meineke yet? How was it? Does your Engine light go away now? Any improvement with the accelerating?
