  1. I'm replacing caps in LS400 ECU and down to the last (upper) braket on the ECU. Is it held by one bolt? Ten MM?. Can I get to it with a socket?
  2. I have had my transmission rebuilt but they didn't get it exactly right. Is was jarring when it shifted and not smooth at all. This has gone on for some time. Recently my "check engine" light came on with a emission code or possible vacuum line problem. The transmission is now as smooth as owl shi--. I know these transmissions are electronically controlled and not by vacuum but is there a genius who can tell me why the transmission magically smoothed out at this exact time. Thanks
  3. 95 LS400 with 185,00 mile needs transmission. Great car so do I go Aamco, used, dealer? It must be good and dependable. I live in Atlanta. TIA Bill
  4. I understand they won't test cars if "check engine light" is on. Thanks
  5. Wife took car to shop in Atlanta to diagnose "check engine light". Shop said cat converter which new from dealer would over $900 for part only. They can do for under $600 installed. Mienke says 239 each installed. Questions: 1) How can I tell if both need replacing? 2) should I do the left then the right if need be? 3) I took off gas cap and re tightened. Would that correct it if that was the problem or 4)should I put a new one on or 5) should I disconnect battery to reset to see if it comes back on? Thanks for any and all help Bill
