supra_man Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 You guys got this problem, when it rains, the rain just stays on the windshield, it doesn't bead off. I cant see nothing when it rains, even with the wipers at full speed. My 08 IS250 is brand new. 1 week old.

SW03ES Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Its Autopia.org The issue is that the car is covered in a material called cosmoline to resist corrosion when its on the boat. This is removed at the port. You've got residue on the glass. Go to the store and by some detailers clay and some quick detailer to use as lube. Clay the windshield, once you do that you'll have no problem.
bartkat Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Get Aquapel. I've used it for 5 years on different cars. Water beads up and above 40 MPH most of the water just blows off. It lasts 3 to 6 months per treatment. All you do is wipe it on , wait a few min. and wipe it off. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4-AQUAPEL-W...sspagenameZWDVW
supra_man Posted December 18, 2007 Author Posted December 18, 2007 Phewww, Thanks man im gonna do that as soon as I go home. Im gonna try the mothers stage 2 wax first before I go out and buy a clay bar.
SW03ES Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 The Aquapel will work much better after you've clayed. The wax won't remove the residue, you need clay.
Lex Law Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 I use a product called Rain Clear. It lasts a couple or few months per application. I got a free tube at Pepboys. I don't even use my wipers on my current car, even when its raining heavy. I'll see a few other cars like mine, and I know they are using something like it. It used to be on my prior cars that the wipers couldn't maintain decent visiblity. The stuff is great.
SW03ES Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Rain-X is just like Aquapel, I prefer Aquapel. Niether of those will solve the problem though, the windshield needs to be cleaned first.
