anything you pick won't make an IS 300 sound like a Honda Civic. the I6 is sooo much meaner sounding. HKS Dragger II, Tenabe is nice, but still relatively quiet, Yo, any exhaust will work if you just want it louder.

if you dont care about passing smog definitely go with some nice stainless headers with any upgraded exhaust and 3 inch piping all the way back, no cats, that will give it a definitely meaner sound along with a short ram or cold air intake if you wish

Well, headers won't do anything for your sound, but it removes 2 of the cats to improve some air flow, and a 3" exhaust line is actually a terrible idea unless your running boost. 3" will take away to much pressure and you'll lose torque. I wouldn't go with more than 2 1/2 at the most. If you look at all the race pipes for the IS 300, unless they are turbo spec exhaust systems, they are all 2 1/2 pipes. But here again, it won't make the car any louder. I think a catback system is all you'll need for more sound. In fact you may be able to just replace the muffler to get what your looking for. More than that and it's more about power and air flow improvement, not sound.
