I'm going to buy a 1997-1999 ES300 and I looking for the details on the scheduled maintenance.

I registered as an enthusiast over at lexus.com, but I cannot get the detailed log of scheduled maintenance. Lexus.com has a free PDF on the maintenance for 2007 cars http://www.lexus.com/pdf/service/Sedans.pdf , but I can't a similar document for the 1997, 1998, or 1999 ES300.

Can someone post what needs to be done at the major intervals like 90k, 100k, 110k, 120k, etc.?

Also, what are the areas of concern in these year models? I've been searching, but I can't find the right thread.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks. I downloaded the 1997 FSM, but it doesn't appear to have the recommended maintenance schedule. I opened all the PDF in the zip file, but I think I need the Owner's Manual or the Supplemental Owner's Manual.

Anyways, I also found out that Edmunds has their version of the maintenance schedule http://www.edmunds.com/maintenance/maintenance.do

Furthermore, I found the Toyota Camry maintenance schedules at http://smg.toyotapartsandservice.com.

Here is my maintenance schedule:

Change the oil & filter FAITHFULLY every 4,000 miles

Installed timing belt, water pump, idler pulley, and dogbone @ 100,000 miles

Install tires, brakes, battery, & air filter whenever needed.

.........And thats it. It runs, drives, and rides very smoothly daily. 194,000 miles and counting...........

Here is my input:

So you changed oil & filter way before manual, nothing of fluid changes, plugs, throttle body cleanings, belts, pcv replacement, cabin filter.......................

Those things are minor - I have done the trans. fluid, plugs, cleaned the t.b., serpentine belt, replaced the pcv - all those only one time at various times. I'm fortunate in the fact that when I was teenager, my daddy taught me the basics of car care. Except for the timing belt and water pump, I have done ALL the maintenance myself.

Minor but have a huge impact if not stated. These are important as changing oil.

Agreed - Thanks for pointing this out.

Not being hard on your but a blocked PCV wil cause sludge and a dirty intake/TB will cause starting issues.

But good start to a list.
