Greetings,

I've lurked here a while but this is my first post. The check engine light came on in my daughters 92 ES300 a day after an oil change. The previous owner of this car said (and I'm getting this third hand) that there is a button in or around the glovebox to clear this situation and he indicated it was related to an oil change. I have never heard of this.

Could someone validate or explain that to me?

The other part of the question is...in general, is there a way to clear the check engine light on this car or must I take it in. I simply want to clear it to see if it comes on again.

Thank you in advance.

Ken C.

Disconnect the neg. battery terminal for a few minutes and reconnect. This resets the ecu to factory defaults. If the cel comes on again get the codes pulled and we will be happy to help you out.
