maryptl Posted May 9, 2007 Share Posted May 9, 2007 Hi , I'm very unknowledgeable about car audio. I have new more powerful sub in my 2004 GS300 but it still lacks that fuller bass sound. The audio guy suggested adding an amplifier which he said would be mounted in the trunk. HE says it will improve the bass. What do you think? Waht would be the drawbacks? oslo Posted May 10, 2007 Share Posted May 10, 2007 The factory sub only gets 40-50 watts so putting in a new subwoofer may improve the bass a little, but you won't notice any big improvement until you install a new amp as well. The drawback of this is that you will need to run a power wire from the battery to the trunk, which can be difficult, especially if it's your first time doing it.
