Hey guys

I just purchased some 10w-30 mobil 1 synth oil for my 2000 es300 ready for its 50,000 mile service tomorrow. It cost me $80 Australian (which is about $70 USD) for the five litre container. Is it that expensive Stateside???

Cheers

Stephen

No, MUCH cheaper here. The Lexus dealer charges $20 a quart for it, but they're crazy. No more than $5.30 a quart here.

Petrolium products are priced like this,

Third world contry -> USA -> Rest of the world

Yeah, it's about $18-30usd on average depending on if you get synthetic, or EP 15,000miles.

i don't recall changing oil myself for more than $10.

5 quarts of the cheapest 10w-30 and an oil filter. i just buy whatever is on sale and have rebates. car runs great at 150,000 miles. don't really see a point in using all these expansive oils and filters. my other car (a mustang) had 280,000 miles and still using the cheapest oil and filter i can buy.
