  1. thanks lexucan, well belive it or not, after it got salvaged, my old boss who worked at advance auto told me to buy the car back from the insurance company, and he wants it, i said well ok, and he started drviving it, this happend in june 07, and yesturday he called me and asked me if i had another engine. lol i said i usually dont keep spare engines for my cars. lol come to find out, he told me the engine is on its way out, has little compression left in it.i guess teres no easy fix buy to rebuilt that eh? i was sad to hear that, because eventhough he bought it for $500 and got a whole year use out of it, i'd like to
  2. i dunno about that. in shreveport, its already up to 94-96 degrees. if i walked tht 3 miles, i'd either stink or i'd be soaking wet when i got to work.
  3. yeah, thats plenty, i live 1.3 miles from school, and 2.8 miles from work. ehehehehheh so if i dont go anywhere, that will last a week lol
  4. personally, id do the bushings, to see what that would do. to be honest with you, i spend every one of my paychecks every week fixing my es, and at the end, when you try to sell it, you wont get a single penny back, so do what you have to do to stay safe, and drive it until its time for it to see heaven. good luck, and i know how you feel.
  5. thank gosh, it uses 87 octane lol it costs me a good 90 bucks these days, and goes about 400 if i keep my foot of the gas. but i only fill up 10, 15,20 bucks at a time lol when i bought it last year on july it cost me 68.00 to fill it up and i did my test to it, and with flow master, grill, tool box, K&N, im getting 14 city 17 highway. ive gottten 8 before, but that was me adjusting my foot to a v8. eeheheheheheeheheheheheheheheheeh
  6. dealer is gonna cost you, call advance, pep, oreilly and get prices, they all price match, so keep that in mind, and do it your self, will come out about 60% cheaper than buying parts at a dealer and getting them to do it for you. my old 92 es300 did the same, and come to find out, it was only the bushings, and they were only $14 for both of them.
  7. well, the money i had to pay for repairs every week, now i can spend on gas eh?
  8. my 92 did the same, clean your mass air flow sensor, and your idle air control valve. lexus is famous for those two. good luck.
  9. hey guys, i dont know if anyone remember me or not, and havent been onsince june or july now, but one day after schhol, someone backed up and hit my hood, salving my famous es300 out. i was sad, yet so happy at the same time, well anyway, i drive a 2002 silverado 1500 z71 ext. cab. now and i love it, dont miss breaking down, and if i ever need to go somewhere, im not affraid anymore. it feels really good, other than i have to pay for it for the next 6 years, well guys, its been a pleasure, and thanks for all of yas help, Shayan
  10. hey, i havent read any of the replies, but back when i did have an 92 es300, which was about 7 months ago, it smoked and it smelled like gas and it was white smoke, you could literally smell gas at the tail pipe, the guy who bought it, went to pipes got a new computer for 25$, and its good as ever. fixed the problem its most likely 99+% your computer.
  11. hey man, i used to have a 92 es300. stay away from 92-94. they have big problems with over heating. es300's are bad about instrument cluster lights going bad. suspension bottoming out. check all of those things. pour water over the suroof and watch it from inside carefully. check heater/ ac on all diffrent speeds, as the control fails alot. abs pump, and also even if your check engine light is not on, go to advance auto or somewhere like that, and do a diagnostic on it , to make sure that the light is not on, b/c some people will take the cluster out, remove the bulb, and thatway, the new owner will hnever see the light. check the valve covers, and feel the steering, on sharp turns, rack pinions are very expensive on those, and they usually leak. look at your cv boots, and also if you go to see one, dont allow them to turn the car on before you get there, that will give the car time to warm up, and by then you wont hear any knocking from the engine, once its wormed up. hope that helped man. good luck.
  12. thats freaking crazy i boguht my 2 struts monroe shocks for like 120 for two of them their good to. my machanic out them both on for 100$$. all i did was pull my seat and the cardboard thing off from the back window. nothing to it really.
  13. hey guys, i found a junk yard with a 95 es300 with the dirver seat, it has a torn but its real small compared to mine and its only 25 bucks. two problems since its a power seat, how do i get it out if i cant roll it up to the front to get the bolts off? second would it fit/match my 92 es300? thanks in advance. Shayan
  14. hey guys, long time no talk, got a z71 now, im over the luxury experience. lmao wel anyway my uncle was driving the car today and the upper radiator hose blew up in 2 pieces any idea why or how or any idea at all? thanks.
  15. so does mine i think the seat becomes shot so when u make a sudden move its kind of a buttoming out process. with the springs or w.e its in there
  16. i made the topic, but its hard for me to answer lol i dont know to rate the car or to just not. its been a nightmare for me. money after money and still got a car that needs so much more. its sad really either it wasent made good, as far as i read 92 was a bad year for the es. over heating problems, a/c problems...... id have to rate my lexus experice a 4. its horrible here in shreveport/ bossier. you can never get anyone to answer the phone in service or parts department. the car well i'd have to give it a 5. this is what i learned about lexus. their nice when new and are a dream car, but after they reach a certain miles you better get rid of it quick, cuz its one thing after another. computers, sensors,...........thats jsut the beginning. but again the car i had was probley never treated right anyway so who knows
  17. they both work, but the 134a leaks faster due to having smaller molecules. But r12 cools better. but if you have a leak, r12 is too expensive mess with
  18. is that about 70'sh? little over 2000-2500
  19. mine did the same wit hthe ac you got a leak either in your condensor or elsewhere. check to see where dirt has collected, becuase oil attracts dirt. as far as transmission no idea there. r12 has bigger molecules and cools alot better. The 134a has smaller molecules which will leak alot faster if you havea leak. mine was a 92 with r12 but my mechanic put 134a and no problem, other than it all leaking out 5 days later.
  20. thanks for the post lol thats funny small i for small intelligence lmao
  21. Hey guys, we all got a lexus eh? so from 1 to 10 what would you give your car. experience, troubles, think about every factor. and if you could do it all over would you still get what you got now? thanks.
  22. amf is correct, if you have ever done your rear speakers you would know when you take your seats off, theres this huge metal X thats there and theres some other things beghind that and your trunk also it would be the biggest painin the rear. Rent a uhaul less time and probley save you from a headeche or pay a friend 20$ to use his truck
  23. well gotta get it fixed be4 winter comes since i dont have ac ima try to have a heater lol
