Hi,

I'm currently looking at a 1999 GS300 w/ 195,000km and a 1998 GS400 w/ 222,000km.

The GS300 is $12,000 and the GS400 is $12,500.

Which one should i buy? Both are in excellent condition.

Does any of those 2 cars have a lot of problems? What kind of problems are they known for? Which one will last me longer and will not break on me for a few years.

Will any of these cars last me over 300,000km with no problems?

Does any of them have tranny issues?

Thanks for all your help guys..i need all your input.

any input from anyone would help.

o ya..prices is in canadian.

I have owned both a 99 GS400 (same as 98) and now a 2001 GS430. Both cars have been flawless with almost no problems. I religiously service my cars. The only reason I got out of the 99 GS400 is because it was totaled by someone who didn't believe stop signs applied to him. The GS300 is supposed to be very reliable also but the 400 has the V8 and is much more powerful and fun to drive in my opinion.

They're both great cars but the GS400 does have a lot more power, so it is just a matter of what you want. I'd go with the gs300, even though the gs400 is great on gas I don't go around racing so no need for the larger output. the inline 6 is great for me. Or just go with one that has the better service history.

My 1998 GS400, bought new, has 140,000 miles on it and is perfect. To me, the 400 says Lexus and the 300 says Toyota even though they both have the same parentage. Go for it! good luck.
