bartkat
Back in the day most speedometers had a top number of 120, but most cars wouldn't do it. That 160 is just a number.

Rx330driver
lol my RX shows 140 but i doubt it will bet past 120. its limited at 110 though or else the tires will burst. i think it involves changing something in the ECU. its entirely possible but what will be the difference. 1QuickIS
Coming home from Reno NV, I hit 146-7ish so I don't know what the actual limiter is set at, but I can tell you that it is a governer cause the car still had more ummph left. I was at like 4.5k on the tach. The good news is that the car felt pretty stable at that speed. Unlike my old Stang GT that felt like it was flying thru the air, very light in the front end, this car felt hunkered down.
bartkat
The new IS is amazingly comfy at those high speeds. You reallly don't feel like you're going so fast till you start catching up with traffic or whatever and need to slow down. :D

LOL :whistles: To misquote Jim Croche from Speedball Tucker, "146 was the route you were on, it was not the speed limit sign." :) larry

The limint is for engine rpm, thus the speed, I doubt if they care how fast you go the care to warranty an engine thus they don't want you to blow it up.. haha George
