I own a 2006 Lexus GS300 which I bought from the US and I plan on shipping it with me to Saudi Arabia were I will be working for a couple of years, will I have a problem finding spare parts for it there or is it exactly the same as the GS’s sold there, also what will happen to my warranty.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

DEAR FAISAL

WELCOME TO K.S.A

FOR YOUR CAR THE SPECIFICATION S ARE TOTALLY DEFFERENT DUE TO MAINLY THE CLIMAT , THE WARRANTY CAN NOT EXTENDED TO K.S.A AND MOST OF THE SAPRE PARTS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE

I RECOMMEND NOT TO BRING THE CAR WITH YOU

THANKS

This is a hard decision. If the warranty can be carried over, and the import tax isn't that much, go ahead and do it. But they are correct when it comes to climate. You might need an undercoat protection for it to prevent rust, as you don't know what kind of water there is when it rains. It might be hard to get parts, unless they have a Lexus dealership there. I don't know if they carry the counterpart to your GS300 (aristo in Japan) but the parts to the counterpart are sometimes slightly different. I know for sure there is a Toyota Prado (GX counterpart) in Saudi Arabia I think, so it's possible there might not even be a Lexus dealership there.
