bartkat Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Hey ya fellas! Does anyone know if installing a HID kit will trigger the computer warning message either on the Sat Nav screen or on the dash board display? Cheers Bond - James bond- Several people have installed kits and haven't gotten any warnings.
SKperformance Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 No clue how it could , so it should be no problem. Just make sure you use a proper relay wiring kit from the battery.
sPY-007 Posted September 20, 2006 Author Posted September 20, 2006 Thanks guys for your help . I think it should work fine as well - There is nothing in the manual that says a warning message will be displayed for low/high beam failure. I am asking because xtralights are trying to sell me the more expensive version which has the on-board computer warning display disable function. They say that after you upgraded your original halogen lights with our HID Xenon lights, the on-board computer detects that there are aftermarket modifications to the original lights thus displays this warning message. Now is that pure BS or are they trying to make me pay more for the kit. ? :chairshot: Cheers sPY
bartkat Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Again, of all the people that I've seen post, none have had a warning light come on. From what I've read, the kits from Xenon Depot are quite good.
sPY-007 Posted September 21, 2006 Author Posted September 21, 2006 How about this....this is what I have been told by xtralights.... I cant see how a chip in the ballast installed to trick the on board computer into not displaying a warning message, is needed for it to turn on! >>>>>>> It just won't turn on if you do not use the special ballasts. Because we sold to couple customers and they told us it must have those special ballasts. Will there be a warning sign that says "Please replace headlight?"
bartkat Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 They don't sound very bright. Dunno if I'd want to buy from them.
