cardona6569
It is a solvent that you can add to your oil, fuel system and/or the air/fuel chambers of your car to enhance the performance of the engine, idle, or to clean your injectors when added to gas, or to clean the fuel system of the car. falciott
Quick question for you gents.... and ladies, would you recommend using Seafoam on an engine with less then 55K miles? I wonder if I'd be able to notice any difference, or if it'd be a waste of time and money.. :whistles:

I wonder if I'd be able to notice any difference, or if it'd be a waste of time and money..:whistles: That all depends on the condition of your oil at time of change. If it's all black & grungy at 3000 miles, then yes, it's worth it. But if it's relatively clean, then no, it's probably not necessary. As far as a waste of time & money, it's only about 3 dollars worth of SeaFoam & takes about 2 minutes, so that's really not a determining factor. As I said above, if your oil is relatively clean at time of change, then I wouldn't do the SeaFoam. Reason being is that SeaFoam is a solvent and the less often you introduce a solvent into the interior of your engine, the better. Conversely, if the oil is filthy, then SeaFoam is one of the few ways (maybe the only way) of cleaning out all the crap inside your engine. dole2000
I have 256K on my 91, I use M1 and change oil every 5K. I tried the M1 that is suppose to be good for 15K. After about 7K I was half a quart low. So I changed my oil with the standard M1 and went back to my every 5K routine. I used to used to mix SeaFoam with my gas with great success.
