Hey guys,

After some work I managed to put on 20" rims on my 1998 gs400. Here's a pic:

No problems so far. There is some rubbing, but only if I turn my wheels all the way while going in reverse.

QUESTION: I need a spare wheel just in case I get a flat. The outside diameter of the tire is 26". I don't want to use the stock spare which is too small and can really mess up the differential. Any advice?

If you have a flat transfer the spare tire to the front and the good one to the rear if needed.

Yeh I will have to do that in case of a flat.

But is that what most people here (who put on larger, aftermarket rims) do? Or do they get a full size spare?

There's also free 24-hour towing service that comes included with most standard auto insurance policies; Usually arrive within the hour. I have 19's on my car, I don't even bother with a spare.

The car just needs lowering now and it will look Cool B)

I don't think I can lower it. It would scrape against the wheel well. Correct me if I'm wrong?

Hi,

The only picture ive seen of your car is the one in this post, looking closer at the picture it looks as though the wheels are level with the wheel arch, was there no option of a better wheel offset so the wheels could sit more inside of the wheel arch?.

The other option might be to have the inside of the wheel arches rolled giving a little more clear clearance then it might be possible to lower the car.

Your car does look nice with the 20s ;)
