bxstr
So Colorado Springs Lexus REFUSES to put a Brake Controller on my '04 LX470. I end up driving to Denver (160 miles round trip) so that they can install it. I get back home, hook up my travel trailer and to my surprise, my rear window wiper kicks on for 5 revolutions and then stops. Ok, I guess I could live with that, but then, the interior fan goes on - even without the key in the ignition! So now I'm unable to park my trailer without unplugging it to prevent my battery from going dead. Just for yucks I hitch the trailer to a friend's '01 Dodge Durango - Walla, no problems! So I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the Brake Controller, but instead may be the hitch wiring on the vehicle? Any thoughts on correcting the problem without a drive back to Denver? denslexusgx470
i say hitch wiring. i don't see why the brake controller has to do anything with the wiper and fan.
lenore
I am afraid they messed your wiring up. They may have moved a harness and shorted it to some metal somewhere under the dash.

I thought the brake controller was included stock? The factory electrical manual for my 03 indicates a controller ecu there.
bxstr
Thanks for your thoughts! I understood there is a brake controller wiring connection under the dash - so I assume that's what they attached to. Can't imagine where it went wrong. I will also talk to the travel trailer repair shop this week to see if they can figure it out (so far they've been great). Thanks again!
