This only occurs the first time I hit the brakes after a direction change (forward/reverse). In prior forms there was a discussion about the pads moving in the calipers when going in a different direction. Does anyone know of clips/springs that stop tyhis annoying sound. I would recommend you check the ball joints to make sure there in good shape. When a ball joint goes bad you will get the same "clunk" as you described such as reversing and when you apply the brake...."clunk". The Sc should have springs mine does on both the front & rear. If not the part numbers for a SC400 are: (Front P/N 47743-24020 QTY. 4) & (Rear P/N 47743-50020 QTY. 4). Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
