Grandpa Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 What are some good brands for me to buy if I am going to change my oil and air filter this weekend? I don't know which performs well on a 92' LS 400
sonyman Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Well, pretty much any dino oil will work. Havoline is an excellent choice for a very basic oil that performs well. I'd use a genuine Toyota oil filter, as well as a genuine Toyota air filter. Scott

sonyman Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 lexls.com is an excellent site. In case you're feeling lazy, quoting lexls.com: "Capacity: w/oil filter change = 5.3 liters (5.6 US qts, 4.7 Imp. qts) w/o oil filter change = 5.0 liters (5.3 US qts, 4.4 Imp. qts) Dry fill = 6.0 liters (6.3 US qts, 5.3 Imp. qts)" You'd be looking at the first line (5.6qts) so go out and buy 6. 99lsguy Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Grandpa - Look up the filter type in your owners manual............ it should be toyota part # 90915-20004 oil filter' - for the UZ engine. Adams Toyota (in town) should have the filters...I bought about 6 filters two years ago. Then a 6 pack of oil.......5w-30 of your favorite color.......and you should be good... Got the PM on the rotors - are they "shimmying" as you brake??
