kevinfromseattle
the space between the console and the passenger side front seat gets really hot! estimated? 110 degrees? it should not be this hot, what the heck is going on? This problem occurs when the heated seats are off, but is worse when the seat is of course on. WTF?

The tranny will and does create some heat and will heat this area up. It is NOT heating up my seat but inside the console. When the vehicle is not moving more than when you are at idle. It is normal as my last two Lx470s did the same. Are you using your AC? ;)
Jim_Chow
Is your rear heater/AC (floor vents) on w/ the rear temperature slider in the ceiling cranked up? In the rear, the heater supplies heat from the bottom of the console only while the ceiling vents supply cool air only.

The rear heating setting is likely the cause, as this was the case on our 99 LX 470 as well.
