Say You Just Bought A Used Es...

Recommended Posts

...what would be the main things you would replace or have checked?

Would you take it in for a tune up just based on gp?

Diagnostic?

(Taken into consideration that I've done a full carfax report on the car (perfect history - one owner who lived in a very affluent city so I would think that the car was well taken care of and serviced regularly) - plus it positively rides like silk - but unfortunately the maintenance records weren't available at the time of purchase...)

Need more information about the car to advise. Car model year, mileage, tire condition, etc. Personally I would change the fluids (engine oil, anti-freeze, transmission) just to play it safe. I didn't mention the timing belt 'cause I don't know the mileage on the car.

So, the timing belt doesn't have to be changed for another 20k miles, but I would change the fluids and than enjoy your new car. I don't know whether the spark plugs were changed at 60K miles, but as you said you feel the car was maintained properly so I don't know what to say in this respect. Good luck. :)

do yourself a favour

stick your finger and feel around the oil filler cap inside the engine

underneath the rocker

does it come out dirty and gritty

a perfect one , with frequent oil changes usually keeps the oil residues down

the 97 had very litte problems

and most still haven't relized yet as it isn't an older model as much
