Just Some Math For Loc

we all know that there is flood control on these forums, meaning you cannot post more than once in thirty seconds. i was kinda curious and extremely bored so i did the math.

30 secs a post= 2 posts a min.

2 posts a min. = 120 posts/ hour

120x24= 2880

the maximum posts you can submit in a day is 2880. lets say you are like me and have (roughly) 990 posts. to figure how long it would take. Simply divide it by 120. the result will be the number of hours it would take to type that much. this formula is true because you post twice a minute and there are sixty minutes in an hour. 2 x 60 = 120.

i know, im a nerd, lol but i have always been wondering.

PS: it would take me 8 hours and 15 minutes to equal my posts currently.

you left out several variables:

1. content of post (ie. number of letters typed)

2. typing speed of the poster

3. relevance of post

And, I must inform you of an error in your calculations.

The flood control on this forum is 20 seconds not 30.

now go back and recompute your figures.

The flood control is such a pain in the !Removed! when searching...re-searching rather! That's probably the only complaint I have about this board.

It is actually quite common on many forums.

as a matter of fact, CL has this new thing where posts have to have a minimum number of characters in them now. I would assume it is to help eliminate the PITA posters that like to bump their post count by replying with "cool", or other one word phrases.

woops, the other forums im on have 30 seconds, ok so here goes lol

stevie: i meant the fastest anyone could post, regardless of what they talk about, how fast they type, or how long it is, ( if there is a min. 10 letters limit, you can still type ten letters in that time w/ time 2 spare. so here is the NEW math (thanks stevie)

20 posts = 3 posts a minute

3posts/min= 180 posts an hour

180*24= 4320

the formula is NOW:

posts/180 = hours taken
