bigleechild
I have a 2000 470 and recently the brakes started squeaking at the end of a stop. I got the brakes fixed, next week same thing. I have 70% left on the fronts and the rears were just replaced. When I asked the service tech about it, he couldn't guarantee that it wouldn't happen again. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips. I bring it to a lexus dealership, so I would appreciate any assistance.

When you had the pads replaced (I presume w/ OEM pads since you say a lexus dealership did the work), did they also replace the anti-squeal shims and put the special grease on them? The factory manual says the anti-squeal shims should be replaced when the pads are replaced, but they normally do not come w/ the pads. I had my front pads replaced 1K mi ago. I'm not sure if they replaced the squeal shims (I didn't have the factory manual then), but they don't squeal at all.
lx470
Find a long straight, get up a good high speed and brake hard. Repeat a few times. See if that cures it. (Removes build up of dust and other grime from the pads and the rotors)

Spray the rotor(S) both sides. You probally will have to jack the car up and pull a wheel. Spray costs about $3.00 as I remember. If you don't work on cars your self any brake shop can do this. Will charge you $25-$50. I had an oil change place change my pads and spray the rotors. No turning required. El Cheapo here. I furnished the OEM pads and they did the labor. Nothing to it. Ran under a $100. Parts is parts, just cause it's a Lexus doesn't mean it requires special aircraft skills. Keep away from the Lexus service if at all posible. The dealer is history for me. RIP.
