lenore
When they say replace the torque sensing LSD oil are they talking about the rear drive differential oil on the RX300 AWD?
RX in NC
Who is "they"? Are you reading from a service manual or is some Lexus service advisor telling you that you need to perform this service at a certain mileage interval? I've never seen a reference to anything called torque sensing LSD oil....
wwest
Since the "torque sensing", viscous fluid, in the center diff'l is hermetically sealed within the clutch(LSD) case I doubt anyone would suggest replacing that. THat leaves us with the lubricating oil for the PTO assembly or the 2000 and earlier rear diff'l and optional mechaincal LSD.
tmastres
Just FYI :The torque sensing LSD oil is lited as a "replace" item at 60k in the RX owners manual supplement. No need for doubt. "They" are the paople who wrote the manual. I didn't bother with the 60k service but I'm curious has anyone had this done?
