Anthony Virtuoso
My dealer uses 10w30 in the IS 250 when changing oil. I am pretty certain it should be 5w30 as per the oil fill cap. Anyone know for sure?
steviej
What does it say in the owners manual? I think you will find both to be acceptable but 5w-30 is more preferable in colder climates. steviej
bartkat
Recommended viscosity SAE 5W-30 is the best choice forgood fuel economy and good starting in cold weather. If SAE 5W-30 is not available, SAE 10W-30 may be used. However, it should be replaced with SAE 5W- 30 at the next oil change. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...pe=post&id=3751

I contacted the dealer and they said "we were out of 5w30"... long story short I had to go down their to have them replace it.
