thieaux Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Guys i honestly havent had any luck mith this car, My drive belt started squeeking and all of a sudden slipped off the pullys , and all my lights went on . I checked and my drive belt is new not even one crack on the ribs. What gives?
wwest Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 One of the pulleys msialigned or shaft retaining nut loose. It was the alternator pulley that did that to me.
obergc Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Maybe a frozen bearing somewhere in the serpentine belt path ??
lenore Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 I agree either one of the idlers is failed or one of the components driven by the drive belt froze up or has a great deal of drag.
thieaux Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 nope all of the pulleys move freely, , although the idler pulley did move freely it didnt look quite right i turned it and felt unblanced like it was wabbling back and for not much, but enouh for me to notice
lenore Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Your idler sounds bad to me, should be smooth, and not wobbling.
wwest Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 That wobble may have very well "walked" your groved belt off of the other pulleys.
thieaux Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 Fund the culprit, crankshat pulley wento to shi...., so here i go again
