davej Posted December 18, 2005 Author Share Posted December 18, 2005 The ES 300 is a 98'. Having searched for the p0402 code as suggested, it seems it may be related to the egr valve. davej Posted December 19, 2005 Author Share Posted December 19, 2005 I would like to add that yesterday I cleared the check engine light and trac-off lights. I then let the car run for some time with the lights staying off. I noted that when I accelerated hard the car stumbled. At this point, the check engine light and "trac off" light came on. So, it appears that the egr sensed rich fuel from the stumble and reported back? So is it true to say that the egr valve is likely doing its job and the car is just running bad?
